Australian Pump Industries have announced an upgrade to their bronze marine pump range. The new bronze Aussies feature NIAL BZ castings for all major components.
Product Manager, Brad Farrugia explains, “Upgrading from zinc free bronze to nickel aluminium bronze represents a virtual ‘Mil Spec’ configuration. The material change means significantly improved longevity for pumps operating in tropical or sub tropical sea water applications.”
The new Aussie GMP NIAL bronze marine pumps are available in 2 inch, 3 inch and 4 inch models. They can be used in many applications on fishing vessels, tugs, ferries and other commercial craft. They have successfully been awarded DNV certification.
With flows of up to 2,200 litres a minute and heads to 50 metres, the marine pumps are all self-priming. They can draft water from 6m vertical depths. This enables them to operate as effective bilge, fire or water transfer pumps.
In addition, they have a wide range of optional seals, including silicon carbide and tungsten. These ‘hard’ seals are sometimes fitted where the pumps are required to handle sand or silt laden water.
Australian Pump Industries offers these pumps as either electric motor or engine drive configurations, or as a bare shaft version. Bare shaft models can be long coupled to engines or to an engine PTO drive. An electrically operated centrifugal clutch kit is also available. Hydraulic power pack drive versions are also available.
