Baulkham Hills Shire Council recently took delivery of a unique purpose built weed eradication pump built by Australian Pump Industries. The Aussie Spraymaster consists of a self contained engine driven pump, tank and retractable hose reel designed specifically for local government weed eradication.
The heart of the system is a Aussie Udor model Kappa 43 pump delivering 43 litres per minute flow. The machine operates at 40 bar (568 psi). It is that combination of pressure and flow that enables two operators to spot spray weeds at the same time making it ideal for use in parks, playing fields and footpath weed eradication.
The machine is powered by a 5.5 HP Honda industrial air cooled petrol engine, driving the heavy duty slow speed pump through a cast iron gearbox. The machine comes complete with its own integrated unloader, pressure gauge and bypass arrangement. The unloader allows the operator to vary the machine from 0 to 40 bar by simple manipulation of a control knob.
The system includes filtration and suction hoses. Supply to the pump is through a 400 Litre Aussie Billabong tank made from UV stabilised poly. The tanks are a single piece construction for extra strength and come with positive locking lids and breathers.
Baulkham Hills Shire Council in Sydney’s growing Norwest area will be using the machine to keep parks and gardens looking smart. The machine is lightweight, being supplied with its own integrated steel frame to enable it to be “slipped on” council utility vehicles as required.
Australian Pump claim that the Aussie Spraymaster can also be used as a quiet effective plant wash down rig for cleaning earthmoving machinery in the field.
