With a tough El Niño creating drought conditions across Australia, reliable, fuel efficient pumps are at a premium. Australian Pump Industries has developed a 4 inch drought buster, designed to move large quantities of water with minimum fuel consumption.
Called the Aussie Quick-Prime QP402, the big 4 inch pump offers huge flows of up to 1800 litres per minute and high performance head characteristics.
The pump is designed to transfer water efficiently on farm, or to load and unload tankers fast. Its unique design provides unparalleled suction capability.
Powered by a Honda 8 HP petrol engine, with Yanmar or Kubota diesel option, the pump offers farmers low fuel consumption and maximum pump performance.
The Aussie Quick-Prime QP402’s suction capability is over 8.4 metres that is direct suction lift, making it ideal for drafting water from creeks, streams or dams. Recent tests showed that the pump primed from a 3 metre lift in less than 30 seconds.
The QP402, in its base configuration, comes with heavy duty cast iron impeller and volute. The impeller has large open vanes to allow solids to pass straight through the pump without damage. A heavy duty mechanical seal is standard equipment.
Like all big Aussie 3 inch and 4 inch transfer pumps, the QP402 comes in a heavy duty roll frame with anti vibration mounts. A free 4 inch coupling and strainer kit is provided with every pump.
Australian Pump Industries has also developed high pressure kits to suit the QP402. For example, Australian Pump Industries can change the impeller and volute for a high pressure set that gives heads of up to 70 metres. That is almost 100 psi.
