THE Australian Penstock & Damper Valve Company (AP&DVC) hopper isolation valves are suited to applications with media like hot fly ash, sewage sludge, cement and dust.
Jamming is a problem frequently experienced with isolation valves on hopper outlets. Slide gate valves have traditionally been used to isolate hoppers. This kind of valve is poorly designed to function in a horizontal position. Problems arise when the media builds up in the seat and guide areas. The valve gate becomes unable to close properly, preventing effective isolation.
The AP&DVC range of hopper isolation valves have been designed to avoid jamming problems during operation. The areas of potential media build up are removed. The valve does not bottom out when in closed position and support guides for the gate are not in the media flow.
