The Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association has announced that submissions for the 2011 Awards of Excellence are due on Friday February 18th, with winners being announced at AUSPACK PLUS 2011 in March in Melbourne.
Proudly supported by DB Schenker, Midway Metals, PKN, SEW Eurodrive and SMC, the biennial Awards of Excellence are conducted by the Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association to recognise the efforts of the successful companies, their employees and the skills required for their outstanding contribution to meet the needs of the packaging industry.
The Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association has broad entry criteria for the Awards of Excellence, with entries encouraged and accepted from any company that meets the membership criteria of the Association.
According to Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Chairman, Mr Rob Lawrence, the focus of the Awards of Excellence is to be directed towards a business' improvements, for example increase in sales or profit for the machinery supplier, or an efficiency increase, or cost reduction to the customer by using the packaging machinery.
The technology associated with the Award entry will be considered but the tangible benefits to the customer are very important. The Awards will be presented to both the company submitting the award entry and, where applicable, to the company’s customer.
Awards of Excellence 2011 categories include the following:
- 2011 EXPORT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD - the recipient will have made a worthwhile contribution to an existing or new export market
- 2011 DESIGN AWARD - the recipient will have developed a packaging or processing line or module that results in the significant advancement of packaging and processing machinery technology by either introducing a new idea or modifying an existing principle
- 2011 CUSTOMER PARTICIPATION AWARD - this award has a major emphasis on the customisation of packaging and processing machinery which is required to suit a customer’s individual needs
- 2011 IMPORTED EQUIPMENT AWARD - this award recognises the efforts of an Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association member or a company eligible to be a member who promotes their overseas principal’s equipment in the Australian market, where the equipment in itself represents a high standard of excellence in every respect relevant to the industry consistent with the standard applied.
