The Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA) has welcomed KUKA Robotics Australia as the latest new member company to join the ever-expanding association.
Founded in Augsburg by Hans Keller and Jakob Knappich in 1898, KUKA began designing and building their own 6 axis robots in 1973. KUKA’s international business took off in a big way in the 1980s, and service centres were set up in Europe and the USA.
KUKA is today Europe’s leading manufacturer of robotic products and firmly established as one of the big three global robotic suppliers. KUKA Robotics has been represented via agents in Australia since 1999; as of January 2014, the company is represented in Australia as a fully owned subsidiary of the German parent, KUKA Robotics Australia Pty Ltd.
The KUKA product range includes the 6kg payload Agilus robots for high speed picking and packing, a huge range of 6 axis robots and palletising robots with payloads of 40kg through to 700kg and the massive 1,300kg payload Titan PA.
Working with several integrators and partners across Australia and New Zealand in implementing high quality automation, KUKA Robotics Australia offers certified or field training, service, maintenance and spare parts, collaborating with their partners to ensure the end manufacturer gets the best mix of product, knowledge and ongoing lifecycle support.
