The Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA), in conjunction with the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) invites submissions for the 5th annual scholarship program that will enable a packaging engineer to complete a Diploma in Packaging Technology.
Submissions for the APPMA 2013 scholarship program are due before Friday the 22nd of March, 2013.

According to Mr Mark Dingley, Chairman of the APPMA, the Diploma in Packaging Technology is a Level 5 qualification, which is internationally recognised for those wishing to pursue a career in the packaging industry or for those who are already in the industry and who wish to extend their knowledge and expertise.
Offered by the AIP continuously since 1980, the study program prepares students to take responsibility for packaging operations at any level through the supply chain. The qualification is comprehensive, and provides an opportunity to study the principles of packaging, packaging materials and packaging processes.
Who can apply?

The scholarship is ideal for people currently employed in the packaging industry and who want to broaden their knowledge and understanding to take on greater levels of responsibility. Due to the diverse nature of the packaging and related industries, it is difficult to define this target group in terms of precise job functions.
The scholarship is also suitable for people who are currently employed in the industry, and who may be following courses in associate subject areas such as packaging design, food science/technology, materials science/engineering and logistics.
Mr Ralph Moyle, MAIP, National President of the AIP, adds that the Institute acknowledges the efforts of associations such as the APPMA who recognise the importance of education and training and are contributing to the growth of the packaging industry as a whole in Australia.
Application forms are now available for the APPMA 2013 scholarship program from APPMA or AIP.
Submissions must be received by Close of Business on Friday the 22nd of March with the 2013 winner to be announced during the 2013 APPMA Awards of Excellence, which will be held on Wednesday the 8th of May during AUSPACK PLUS 2013 at the Sydney Showground.
