Third AIP Scholarship awarded at 2011 PCA Awards

The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) awarded the third scholarship for the Certificate in Packaging during the 2011 PCA Awards.  

The AIP Scholarship was awarded to Andrew U’Ren who was a gold winner in the 2011 PCA Southern Cross Packaging Design Awards.  

According to Pierre Pienaar FAIP, National President of the AIP, Andrew U’Ren has an impressive technical understanding of packaging with a sound industrial design skill-base.  

Scholarship winner Andrew U’Ren says that the AIP Certificate in Packaging Scholarship will allow him to apply his developing studies in a packaging context.  

Having successfully completed a packaging design unit with a High Distinction grade of 95, Andrew aspires to work as a packaging designer in the packaging industry and believes that the Certificate in Packaging Scholarship will further enhance his knowledge and skills to be a confident and prominent designer.    

Andrew is currently completing a Bachelor of Design, majoring in Communication Design with two advanced majors in branding and advertising strategy and design management at Swinburne University.  

Andrew was awarded Gold in the Six Can Beverage Wrap category of the PCA Southern Cross Packaging Design Awards for his Yellow Zebra entry. This award was for the winning entry that best designed a six-can beverage pack for an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage.
