The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) has awarded the second scholarship for the Certificate in Packaging at the PCA Awards evening to Charlotte Roberts, a finalist in the 2010 PCA Southern Cross Package Design Awards.
Mr Pierre Pienaar FAIP, National President of the AIP said that the scholarship was awarded to Charlotte as she had displayed outstanding thought processes and imagination.
Elaborating on the selection, Mr Pienaar said that Charlotte had strong planning and detailing abilities, showing good understanding and knowledge.
He added that Charlotte’s presentation skills were excellent and had effectively communicated in both thought process as well as her brief.
Mr Pienaar also said that the scholarship offered by AIP will enable Charlotte to complete the Certificate in Packaging, which is recognised in 27 countries and provides a springboard to an academic career in packaging with recognition of prior learning for the Diploma in Packaging Technology and Masters in Packaging Technology at Brunel University UK.
Scholarship winner Charlotte Roberts says that she would love to broaden her knowledge in the world of packaging and enter the packaging industry with help from the Certificate in Packaging Scholarship.
Charlotte has completed a Certificate IV of Contemporary Art, Diploma of Graphic Design, and is currently studying the Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design.
AIP focuses on facilitating the advancement of packaging technology and provides educational opportunities to packaging technologists through a range of scholarship programs.
The PCA Southern Cross Awards scholarship complements other programs initiated by the AIP including the APPMA Scholarship for the Diploma in Packaging Technology and the AIP Scholarship for the Certificate in Packaging, which was recently awarded to a finalist in the Cormack Innovation Awards.
