Half day training courses from Australian Institute of Packaging

Supplier News

The Australian Institute of Packaging is offering several half day training courses this year.

Training courses are available for Plastic Packaging, Print Technology and Lifecycle Inventory and Carbon Footprinting.

Introduction to Plastic Packaging

This half-day training course introduces course participants to the basic principles, techniques and equipment for the most commonly-used physical and analytical tests on polymeric materials.

To be held in Oatlands, NSW and St Kilda, Victoria, the training course will present a precise, non-mathematical introduction to plastics, their raw materials, syntheses, properties and applications. The course will also cover the manufacture and properties of plastics as a function of the molecular properties of polymers used in the plastics industry.

Oatlands, NSW
Thursday 4th of August
Oatlands Golf Course Club House, Bettington Road, Oatlands, NSW 2117
Time: 10.00am

St Kilda, Victoria

Introduction to Print Technology

This half-day training course aims to provide participants a basic understanding of printing processes including problems they may potentially encounter with each print process.

Andrew Readman, Specialist Teacher, Print Machining Workplace Trainer and Assessor from RMIT’s School of Design International Centre of Graphic Technology will present the half day training session on the introduction to print technology.

Introduction to Advanced Plastic Packaging

The half-day training course on Advanced Plastic Packaging will take course participants through the subject of polymer science, a subfield of materials science concerned with polymers including synthetic polymers such as plastics. The field of polymer science covers research in multiple disciplines including chemistry, physics and engineering.

Choice in plastics is almost limitless as there are hundreds of identified ‘species’ of synthetic polymers,  any of which is available in a range of molecular masses, and most can be influenced by processing conditions.

St Kilda, Victoria
Thursday 8th of September
Viewpoint Centre, Corner of Octavia Street and St Kilda Road, Suites 3/8 40-44 St Kilda Road, St Kilda, Victoria 3182

Introduction to Lifecycle Inventory and Carbon Footprinting

This half-day Professional Development training course provides a comprehensive introduction to Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) that identifies and quantifies energy and resource use as well as environmental discharges through the entire product life cycle.

Course participants will learn how resource inputs, energy requirements, and releases to the air, water and land are quantified for each step in the manufacture of a product or process from the extraction of raw materials from the earth to ultimate disposal of the wastes.

St Kilda, Victoria
