Australian Institute of Packaging Hosts Technical Dinner Event

The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP), in conjunction with the SCAA, will be hosting a technical dinner, at the Box Hill Golf Club, Victoria; on Wednesday 5 October 2011. The technical dinner event will feature a variety of guest speakers from Health Specialists Australia and Worksafe Medics, Nordson Australia and AkzoNobel.

Dr Mike Shenouda, Medical Director of Health Specialists Australia and Worksafe Medics, will discuss the topic of the modern workplace chemical exposure and occupational cancer. Shenouda’s presentation will mostly focus on the practical side in reducing and eliminating the risks in the workplace.

Peter Murcott, Engineer of Nordon Australia, will discuss the topic of ‘Quality Control In Beverage Can Production’ in his presentation. Murcott’s talk will involve ensuring consistent conformal coating in beverage can productions, which are critical in producing a quality fine product.

Peter Twaddle, Business Manager – Packaging Coatings of AkzoNobel will be speaking about ‘Coatings and Inks for Metal Packaging’ and its technologies and applications. Twaddle will talk about how the market has evolved and is evolving from teh result of industry rationalisation, economic conditions and product stewardship considerations.
