The course, brought to you by Australian Institute of Packaging ,  will be "Introduction to Plastics" which will be held as per the below details. If you missed this course when it was held in your state this is your chance to attend.

Location: Training Room 1, Regency International Centre (TAFE SA), Days Road, Regency Park, Adelaide

Time: 10.00 am to 3.00 pm

Course Content
This half-day course will be clear and comprehensive, it will present a precise, non-mathematical introduction to plastics, their raw materials, syntheses, and applications, discussing the manufacture and properties of plastics as a function of the molecular properties of polymers used in the plastics industry.

The course will consist of the properties of the main classes of materials, on the principles of such processes as injection moulding, extrusion, blow moulding and thermoforming polymers. No previous experience will be assumed in the subject matter of the lectures.

Those most likely to benefit from this course are employees from plastics manufacturers, plastics sales people, plastics wholesalers and plastics end users from technical staff to line personnel.

Course Presenter
Pierre has a Master of Science Degree (Packaging Engineering/Technology) from Brunel University, UK. Pierre has a Master of Manufacturing and Production Degree from University of Hertfordshire, UK. He has been National President of the South African Institute of Packaging, a director of the Packaging Council of Southern Africa and a representative on the board of the World Packaging Organisation. He has lectured in the technology and science of packaging at various universities for the past 20 years and is currently a tutor for the correspondence course being offered through the Australian Institute of Packaging, namely the Diploma in Packaging IoP UK.
