The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) New South Wales Branch will be holding a technical dinner on Thursday the 24th of November at the Oatlands Golf Course.
Dieter Lehmann of O-I Asia Pacific and Rajendra R of 10 Thousand Trees will be the featured speakers at the event.
Dieter Lehmann, Communications Manager at O-I Asia Pacific will present a paper on O-I's Glass Is Life Global Marketing Campaign.
A first of its type in the glass packaging industry for more than 100 years, the Glass Is Life global marketing campaign is an integrated campaign designed to communicate and elevate the unique qualities of glass packaging that build successful food and beverage brands.
Rajendra R, Senior Consultant at 10 Thousand Trees will be speaking about the 10 Thousand Trees initiative that has been developed to help make paper a sustainable resource and reduce the need for deforestation in the long term.
The 10 Thousand Trees initiative involves planting trees as a crop in Australia and supplying them back to the paper industry.
The organisation will harvest the trees every 12 years with all proceeds to go into planting and managing more trees. Projections show that this effectively doubles the number of trees every cycle, and 10 trees planted today would give 10,000 trees in 120 years, creating a great positive legacy.
