Supervised Training Courses from Australian Forklift Training are ideal for those with limited to no practical experience driving a forklift or for those who don’t want to rely on their staff to study in their own time. The course is conducted over three visits, an initial 4hr training session, a follow up session and competency assessment, then the WorkCover licence tests.
In the initial 4 hr training session, learners are given a thorough explanation of the theory and practical required to obtain the licence. Each learner operates the forklift under the trainers close supervision and will be guided through a number of exercises designed to teach them the required operating procedures. Learners receive a workbook and an operator logbook so that they can continue to drive under supervision between training sessions. The follow up session (usually conducted the following week) includes a recap of the important aspect of safe operation. Then, a competency assessment is conducted to ensure that the learner is ready to sit the WorkCover licence test.
The WorkCover Licence tests consist of both theory and practical and take approx 3-4 hrs depending on group size. The tests are conducted by accredited staff (not by WorkCover) and successful applicants will be issued with an interim licence on the spot.
