Western Australia's workplace safety trade show, the WA Safety Show, returns to Perth from 24 to 26August, 2010. The WA Safety Show is presented by exhibition organisers Australian Exhibitions & Conferences .
The opening exhibition in 2008 attracted 4000 visits, with the building and construction, mining, and manufacturing sectors dominating the visitor list.
Marie Kinsella of Australian Exhibitions & Conferences, organiser of the WA Safety Show, is expecting similar attendance numbers this year.
"This show only comes around once every two years and the response to the inaugural WA Safety Show highlighted that the west deserves and demands local support from specialist suppliers," Ms Kinsella says.
"In one afternoon at the WA Safety Show, visitors can find solutions to the vast array of safety challenges they face, such as radiation, noise, vehicle and lone worker safety, materials handling and even wellness."
The WA Safety Show stays abreast of the technological advances in safety and promises to keep visitors informed of the latest regulatory changes.
A new model Work Health and Safety Act to be implemented Australia wide was announced in December 2009. Seminars at the show will outline the implications for Western Australian workplaces.
"Western Australia's position on the harmonisation of OSH laws is different," Ms Kinsella says. "We'll have experts at the show to explain what changes employers can expect and how they should prepare."
The WA Safety Show and the concurrently-held WA Safety Conference presented by the Safety Institute of Australia in WA will run from August 24 to 26 at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.
