Australian Dust Control Pty Ltd designed and installed dust and fume extraction systems at St Francis Xavier College – Catholic Schools Office in Hamilton, NSW.
ADC installed a reverse flow system for their woodworking room, a fume extraction system for the metalworking room and a spray booth for the cabinetmaking room.
The reverse flow dust extraction system incorporated an 18.5kw high efficiency fan with a sound enclosure to minimise noise to surrounding classrooms. A variable speed drive was also included in the design to maximise energy efficiency resulting in significant and ongoing reduction in power costs.
The fume extraction system designed for the welding area of the metal workshop included three articulated arms with a radius of two metres. A new 2m spray booth with open face dry filter exhaust ventilation plenum was also installed in the cabinetmaking room.
