Dust and fume extraction specialist, Australian Dust Control Pty Ltd was commissioned by a commercial training organisation specialising in emergency response safety training for the oil and gas industry to design and install a wet scrubber extraction system complete with a 55kw centrifugal fan for their fire training facility.

Designed and manufactured using 304.2B grade stainless steel including all pipe fittings and ducting, the wet scrubber system features an airflow capacity of 33,000m³/hr and incorporates an abrasion-resistant water reticulation pump as well as a dry run protection pump with a hopper section at the bottom for draining out sludge waste. Dampers were used throughout the ductwork to control the airflow capacity to each area.

Silencers and an acoustic fan enclosure were added to minimise noise impact to the surrounding areas. A variable speed drive that automatically pre-sets suction levels ensures maximum efficiency resulting in significant and ongoing energy cost savings.

ADC’s wet scrubber extraction systems can be adapted for use across diverse industries, and are supplied in flexible and innovative designs compliant with Australian Standards and OHSE guidelines to suit the specific requirements of each customer application.
