Australian Dust Control Pty Ltd recently designed and installed a second shaker filter extraction system for St Paul's Catholic High School in Booragul, NSW.
Dust and fume extraction forms an integral part of health and safety management in woodworking, metal fabrication and industrial arts workshops in schools. Australian Dust Control offers the latest technology to reduce exposure of staff and students to hazardous dust and fumes.
The new shaker filter extraction system installed by Australian Dust Control included ductwork for 16 new woodworking machines as well as a 7.5kw extraction fan. The earlier system installed at the school incorporated a down draught suction table into the design to suit their new drop saw.
Both shaker filter extraction systems have been fitted with a Variable Speed Drive (VSD), providing the school with significant and ongoing savings on energy costs.
Schools are now turning to Australian Dust Control when planning and designing new workshop areas or upgrading existing workshops for effective and affordable solutions to manage the risk to students and staff from dust and fume exposure.
