The association aims to provide minerals industry employees with the facilities and information necessary to both fulfil their role adequately and continuously develop their work-related skills.
In order to maintain their membership, the minerals industry association requires that individuals regularly engage in professional development activities including training sessions, seminars, conferences and so forth.
AusIMM is of the belief that professional development activities help to ensure members are leading minerals industry professionals, as they ensure technical and professional skills are adequate and constantly expanding.
The minerals industry association publishes AusIMM News & Week in Review and The AusIMM Bulletin. These publications are comprised of useful information that is of particular relevance to the minerals industry.
The association plays an important role in policy development, and submits its policies to the government on a regular basis for the benefit of its members and the minerals industry.
