In February 2005, Rockhampton City Council had a need to weigh the product coming into their landfill.

Rockhampton City Council approached Australasia Scales Rockhampton to tender for the supply and installation of a 60 tonne, 18m x 3.5m weighbridge.

Once all tenders were received and reviewed, Australasia Scales was given the order to supply and install the weighbridge.

Australasia Scales were successful in this tendering process primarily due to its ability to provide local back up after sales service and its installation procedures.

Rockhampton City Council was satisfied with the outcome of this job and subsequently placed another order for a bigger weighbridge in February 2006. This one was to be an 80 tonne, 26m x 3.5m weighbridge to weigh B Doubles.

Both of these weighbridges included remote displays and a software program that allows drivers and weighbridge operators to carry out their duties easily and efficiently. Lightning arrestors, traffic signals and weather hoods were also included.

Both bridges are now installed and in constant use under exacting conditions. They are regularly serviced and tested as part of Australasia Scales’ preventative maintenance program by its technical team in Rockhampton.
