AUSTRALIAN businesses can learn more about becoming innovative and internationally competitive at the AusIndustry stand at NMW 2004.
AusIndustry provides a range of assistance products in the form of grants, loans, tax concessions, duty concessions and support for investment by venture capital firms.
A focus of the AusIndustry stand will be new research and development and venture capital products. These include the R&D Tax Concession, R&D Start and COMET program.
The R&D Tax Concession allows companies to deduct up to 125 percent of qualifying expenditure. R&D Start is a competitive, merit-based grants and loans program.
The Commercialising Emerging Technologies (COMET) program is delivered by private sector consultants, supporting individuals, and early-growth and spin-off companies to improve their potential for successful commercialisation.
Visitors will also learn how AusIndustry helps businesses conduct research and development; grow their small business; commercialise a venture; and gain access to scientific resources.
Every year through 21 state and regional offices, AusIndustry delivers approximately $2 billion to an estimated 9,000 Australian businesses.
AusIndustry is a Division of the Department of Industry, Tourism and Development. Stand 2700.
