Altec Lansing has introduced FX5051 surround sound speaker system. Altec Lansing FX5051 system gives genuine 5.1 surround sound with no hassles, and does not require a 6-channel sound card. A USB cable can be plugged from subwoofer into PC and receive six discrete channels of powerhouse sound.

The FX5051 features dual drivers in every satellite, plus a two-barrelled, isobaric subwoofer that gives bass in half the space. The FX5051 is a complement to flat-panel displays and has satellites feature removable bases for easy wall mounting. The FX5051 system also includes a wireless remote, from Innovision .

The features of FX5051 include Crisp Surround Sound: Four satellite speakers; Bass: Isobaric-configured dual 6.5” woofers deliver bass comparable to systems twice as large; Dual-Mode Selector: Each listening mode is specially engineered to provide outstanding performance, the 6-Channel Surround Mode with the USB port on your PC or 6-channel sound card can be used, and the 2/4 Channel Mode to enjoy immersive six-speaker sound from any source – MP3 players, CD players.

The FX5051 has an understated elegance, which offers contemporary design with removable cast-metal stands, and satellite and centre speakers are magnetically shielded; Wireless Remote and Control Pod offering volume (master, centre and rear), bass, and treble controls; iPod/MP3 Player Jack or CD player can be connected at the same time as computer; and Headphone Jack for private listening.
