Atlas Copco Compressors Australia has recently introduced a new aftermarket program for diesel-powered compressors and generators.
The company’s Advanced Care Maintenance program offers three levels of service for maintenance: “We do it all”, “You do it and we provide the genuine parts and lubricants” and “You do some, we do some”.
The company says this program keeps equipment in top condition; schedules preventative maintenance to take advantage of cost savings; provides a quick delivery service for emergency parts; and, provides improved technical support with its up-skilled service technicians.
Sydney-based McDermott Drilling is an example of a company using the “You do some, we do some” program.
McDermott Drilling workshop and plant manger Stewart Frost says the company bought two XRVS466 compressors in early 2004 and took up Atlas Copco’s service offer.
“We are very busy and it seemed like a simple, easy and economical option for keeping the compressors in top condition,” Frost says.
“With the new Advanced Care Maintenance plan there is no downtime due to unexpected breakdowns. We receive service parts ahead of scheduled 200-hour service dates and we then conduct the service ourselves. At 1000 hours they undergo a thorough Atlas Copco service.
“I’d recommend such a service arrangement to any organisation where reliability is required and downtime is a major cost consideration.
“We have just ordered another two Atlas Copco compressors with the same service agreement in place. It gives us the peace of mind of knowing that the machines will be in optimum condition at all times and won’t let us down,” Frost says.
