Because of two new design improvements, Scooptram loaders from Atlas Copco Compressors Australia can now offer improved productivity levels and lower fuel consumption.
Scooptram loaders now have a new generation bucket that is lighter, shorter and faster. Also they have new ground engaging tools which contribute to higher productivity and lower fuel costs.
According to Peter Trimmel, Product Manager at Atlas Copco, tests of the new third generation bucket (GIII) and Atlas Copco’s Ground Engaging Tools (GET), have proven successful. Operating time in the test muck pile was cut by 7 % and fuel consumption was reduced by 8 %. Another new feature is that the bucket is more robust than previously and is designed to withstand extreme use and wear.
GET ground engaging tools are additional components that are bolted onto the front edge of the bucket, and sometimes also on the sides. They are added to increase the bucket’s ability to attack and penetrate different muck pile formations.
