DALLAS Semiconductor, represented by Arrow , has introduced the DS1086L spread-spectrum EconOscillator, a world's smallest low-EMI, 3V, all-silicon clock oscillator.
With six user-programmable spread settings from 0% to 8%, it offers up to 23dB reduction in radiated emissions (rms voltage) relative to crystal oscillators.
The DS1086L can be used as a stand-alone oscillator to generate clock outputs from 4.9kHz to 66MHz. It has a power-down mode and an output-enable control for power-sensitive applications.
The DS1086L can simplify or eliminate shielding and filtering while reducing cost and minimising design time.
