MAXIM Integrated Products, represented by Arrow Electronics , has released the MAX3013, a low-voltage, bidirectional, logic-level translation IC.
This device guarantees operation up to 100Mbps, making it ideal for chip-to-chip data translation. Packaged in a tiny QFN, this device either saves 50% of the board space over competing products or replaces up to 10 discrete components.
The MAX3013 is ideal for bidirectional-level translation between ASICs. The device allows low-voltage ASICs (supplies down to 1.2V) to communicate with higher voltage devices (supplies up to 3.6V), and vice-versa. These devices enable internal communication within an end application, such as an ASIC to an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), or ASIC-to-ASIC data communication.
The MAX3013 consumes only 0.1μA of quiescent current and features a shutdown mode in which the I/O pins enter a high-impedance state. It operates from a 1.65V to 3.6V power supply and a 1.2V to Vcc - 0.4V logic supply.
The MAX3013 operates over the extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is available in a 5mm x 4mm UCSP(TM) or in 20-pin QFN or TSSOP packages.
