MAXIM Integrated Products, represented by Arrow Electronics , has introduced the MAX9989/MAX9990 integrated +20dBm LO buffers specifically designed to meet the requirements of wireless infrastructure applications.
These single ICs provide ±1dB output power variance while replacing three discrete amplifiers, a coupler, and dozens of biasing components.
This high degree of integration enables the designer to reduce the overall size of the LO drive circuitry while simultaneously cutting amplifier noise and system cost.
The MAX9989/MAX9990 are suitable for cellular/GSM/DCS/PCS and UMTS base station applications where high-level LO drives are required for transmit and receive lineups.
Each device prevents LO pulling through the implementation of two high-isolation buffer amplifiers. The overall cascade provides greater than 40dB of LO input-to-output isolation.
These flexible solutions are not only pin compatible, but also allow the designer to precisely set the output power levels from +14dBm to +20dBm.
As an added benefit, both parts feature a buffered on-board PLL amplifier, which provides a convenient +3dBm output for prescaler feedback.
The MAX9989/MAX9990 come in pin-compatible 5mm x 5mm 20-pin QFN packages that are fully qualified for direct PC board mount. Dual output versions are also available in the MAX9987 and MAX9988.
