IBIS-like models have been added to Samtec's current library of SPICE models. In addition to the current SPICE formatted models, connector models are now available in the following formats: Cadence SPECCTRAQuest (.dml), Mentor ICX (.mmf) and Hyperlynx LineSim.
"Samtec customers have been requesting IBIS models of our connectors for some time, but we have faced a dilemma of waiting for the official IBIS Interconnect Model Specification to mature and be adopted by the IBIS Committee," Samtec customer support specialist Corey Kimble said.
“Until the official EIA- IBIS ICM spec has been adopted and simulation tool vendors release compliant software, Samtec will offer versions of connector models that are compatible with the most popular circuit simulators.
“As soon as the EIA-IBIS Committee sanctioned specification is approved, Samtec's models will migrate to that format.”
Samtec's "no NDA, instant download" policy along with multiple formats of the models have been popular with customers. These new "IBIS-like" model formats are available for download now at www.samtec.com with new models added monthly as they become available.
