MAXIM Integrated Products, represented by Arrow Electronics , has introduced the MAX9174/MAX9175 single 1:2 LVDS splitters.
The MAX9174 accepts LVDS signals and is reproduced at the two identical outputs, whereas the MAX9175's ‘anything’ input accepts CML, LVPECL, and LVDS differential signals and translates them to LVDS levels.
The MAX9174's fail-safe input drives both outputs high when the input is open. The MAX9175's input has bias circuits that drive the outputs high when the input is left open.
The output signals conforms to ANSI TIA/EIA-644 LVDS standard and are set to high impedance through power-down inputs. All inputs tolerate VCC +1.0V overshoot and -1.0V undershoot.
Both devices are ideal for applications where low jitter is critical for signal integrity (1.0ps rms maximum added random jitter at 670Mbps).
Applications include clock and data redundancy, multiplexing and protection circuitry in DSLAM, base stations, central office switches, networking switches and routers, and other communication equipment.
The inputs and outputs meet IEC61000-4-2 Level 4 ESD spec, ±15kV for air discharge, and ±8kV contact discharge.
The MAX9174/MAX9175 operate with a 3.3V ±10% supply and are guaranteed to operate at a 670MHz minimum switching frequency.
Both devices are available in 10-pin microMAX and QFN packages specified over the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C).
