Archimedes sand dewatering units are manufactured from carbon steel and comprise an incline screw conveyor located in a trough fitted with a sedimentation tank.
The Archimedes screw conveyor is designed to maximise the extraction of the sand water mixture and recovery is based on pulp density not being less than 40% of the value for the quoted capacity.
The incoming sand water mixture is pumped into the sedimentation tank inlet and at which point the control baffle directs the flows of water through the tank which narrows towards the outlet.
The Archimedes sand dewatering body construction is 6.0mm thick, carbon steel, flighting is 12.0mm thick and the centre tube is of heavy duty material.
The drive package is a shaft mounted geared motor designed to give the maximum dewatering capacity at its selected rotational speed.
