Applied Sorting Technologies  provide an X-ray food inspection service to check products suspected of containing contaminants or to check packaged products which may have missing or damaged ingredients.

X-ray food inspection is done by an XR-3000 Series X-ray Inspection System and be carried out either on-site or at Applied Sorting Technologies’ premises in Victoria. Their X-ray food inspection systems require only 240 volt/10amp single phase power.

Applied Sorting Technologies’ X-ray Inspection Systems are now used by many leading food processors, manufacturers of electronic and automotive products, and security firms

They can detect:

  • Pieces of metal, smaller than conventional metal detectors can pick up
  • Bone fragments
  • Dense plastic and rubber
  • Glass fragments
  • Stones
X-rays can see through packaging to detect contaminants or defects inside bags, cartons, foil packs, glass jars, metal cans, etc.
