THE largest range of Posi Lock manual and hydraulic pullers ever assembled in Australasia will be introduced to industry at three major exhibitions this year.
Examples of the pullers - available in capacities from 2-100 tons - will be a highlight of the Enerpac high-force tool range shown at the Energy and Mining Expo, Auckland, NZ, from May 14-16, National Manufacturing Week, Sydney, from May 28-31 and Queensland Mining and Energy in Mackay, July 23-25.
Posi-Lock pullers, available in two and three-jaw configurations, feature a patented "Safety Cage" jaw retention system designed to enhance operator safety, increase operational precision, permit efficient one-man operation and minimise the possibility of damage to components being worked upon.
The slim, tapered jaws are designed to overcome the common problem of difficult access to machinery components during overhaul and routine maintenance, says Enerpac product specialist Richard Lee.
The Posi Lock range offers quick set up and faster, safer operation during the removal of components such as seals, retainers, bushings and inaccessible parts of engineering, electrical, manufacturing, mining, transport and other equipment.
Enerpac's exhibits at the three exhibitions will, in addition to Posi Lock, include hydraulic cylinders extending from finger-size models, generating a few hundred kilograms of force, to drum-size models that can lift 2,000 tonnes each.
When matched with Enerpac pumps, valving and special-purpose tools to be shown at the three exhibitions, the high-pressure (700 Bar, 10,000 psi) equipment slices time, effort and risk from tasks such as lifting, forming, fabrication, bending, bolting, pressing, pulling, production automation and maintenance.
