Three new interface modules are available from Applied Measurement Australia , allowing the recording of vehicle CAN data (such as throttle angle); RS232 data; and RS422 / 485 from an external sensor whilst simultaneously recording the GPS RF signal into a LabSat.
The new interface modules work by converting the external serial data into a digital waveform, which is incorporated into the GPS data and recorded at the same time. On replay the digital data is converted back, and replayed synchronised with the GPS RF data to within 60 nsecs.
The interface modules are baud rate independent, so no additional software or set up is required.
