Applied Machinery has recently installed a new Hurco CNC vertical machining centre at Custom Plenum Creations in Wollongong, NSW. Owned and operated by Ariel Banco, Custom Plenum Creations is a fabricator of automotive parts including high performance intake manifolds.
Custom Plenum Creations designs and modifies intake manifolds for all types of engines including cars, quad bikes, and jet skis with the modifications significantly boosting their power.
The Wollongong manufacturer purchased the Hurco VM20i 4-axis machine to assist them in the production of modified intake manifolds, converting a previously manual process to a fully automatic one, resulting in faster production.
The Hurco machine was selected based on Mr Banco’s own personal research and feedback from other CNC users and following lengthy discussions with Applied Machinery over an extended period of time.
Mr Banco additionally gained an insight into the machine's many capabilities and features thanks to the comprehensive training package that Applied Machinery provides with all new Hurco machines.
Commenting on the Hurco machine’s user-friendly operation, Mr Banco said that he was able to program it from day one without any previous experience in using CNC machines. He was also impressed with the machine’s efficiency; carrying out a modification was as simple as programming the design prepared on a computer into the machine, and setting it in motion.
Mr Banco adds that the Hurco CNC machine not only delivers huge productivity and efficiency gains, but also excellent accuracy and repeatability. This has allowed him to build up stock levels to be able to supply customers immediately.
Mr Banco reports that Applied Machinery’s service has been outstanding throughout the whole pre and post purchase process. He concludes that the Hurco VMC will allow him to produce the very best intake manifolds without any compromise.
