The local subsidiary of Anritsu Corporation, Anritsu , have recently established a new Optical Calibration Facility at their Melbourne-based Australian head office.
The setup provides comprehensive automated calibration and service capabilities in support of their popular range of optical testing products such as OTDRs, Power Meters & Light Sources, Optical Spectrum Analysers, etc.
Replicating much of the system as used by Anritsu’s manufacturing operation and key overseas service centres, the setup enables Anritsu to provide local in-house support for almost their entire range of optical test products.
Utilising characterised fibres and specially developed software suites allows Anritsu to automate the calibration process for the majority of their optical test products, leading to faster turnaround times and subsequently lower cost to customers.
Anritsu's in-house capability supports optical power generation and measurement at wavelengths including 850, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550 and 1625nm, enabling wavelength stability measurements, calibration of both SM and MM OTDRs, the calibration of optical power meters and sources, optical spectrum analysers covering the range from 600nm to 1700nm, and the calibration of optical attenuators.
Anritsu products supported include the CMA4000/4500/5000 and MW9070, MW9076, MT9083 series OTDRs, the CMA5, CMA50, MS9020, ML9002 Power Meters and Light Sources, MS9710A/B/C series Optical Spectrum Analysers etc.
Anritsu’s Managing Director Ian Fraser said that considering the large installed customer base the establishment of this new calibration facility was seen by Anritsu as being absolutely crucial in terms of meeting their customer’s expectation of ongoing local support, also that it represented Anritsu’s largest single investment in after sales product support in Australia to date.
