THE Gas Data LMSr, available from Anri Instruments , offers many channels of measurement in one package. The system is based on an electronic instrument with typically 20 channels of measurement, each configured to suit the range necessary for the particular application.
Typical measurement channels include infra-red/electrochemical analysis (methane, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide, oxygen, etc.), pressure measurement (gauge and/or absolute), temperature measurements from 10 to +2000°C depending on the probe used, gas velocity/flow using anemometer devices, interface to orifice plates and pitot tubes, 4-20mA signals from existing plant (eg. gas flare temperature) datalogging and telemetry using mobile phone technology (GPS or GPRS).
Power is provided either by the internal batteries (supported by solar if nescessary) or a mains supply. The instrument measures all channels according to how the user chooses to set the data logging parameters. It is designed to be used outdoors with minimal or not weather protection.
Data is gathered from the instrument remotely using the GSM connection to Gas Data's website. Engineers can then view the progress of the test without having to make a site visit to collect the data.
Installations such as these are used for medium term site monitoring. Optionally, sequential gas samples can be taken from up to 16 sample points. Typically these are sample points on pipelines or ground bore holes on a landfill site.
