AMTEX Electronics has developed a series of solid state 1000VA sine wave voltage inverter that continuously operates using a clever conduction cooling method and is tough enough to withstand the vibrations, dust and moisture common in mine and quarry applications.

The PSI 1000 Series is not only rugged, it embraces a low profile design largely facilitated by encapsulation of internal modules within a thermally conductive MIL-spec silicon rubber compound to ensure against shock, vibration, dust, moisture, humidity, salt and fog. The overall size is 48 x 7.6 x 35.5cm.

Because it is sinusoidal, PSI 1000 can drive just about any equipment, and models within this series of inverters delivers 1000VA sinusoidal voltage at 50Hz, 60Hz or 400Hz.

Conduction cooled, the products have a base plate that is rated to operate within extended temperature ranges.

Essentially, this cooling system operates by touch on another surface. For example, heat can be transferred away through another piece of metal or similar substance.

Therefore, it does not need air flow - whether naturally occurring or convection driven - to remain cool, thus ensuring excellent operation in tights spaces where little or no moving air is present.

Very accurate and reliable, the Amtex PSI 1000 Series is a solid state inverter incorporating a microprocessor controlled high frequency PWM technology to synthesise sinusoidal outputs of 115V rms or 230V rms and accepts a nominal input of 24V, 36V, 48V, 125V or 250V dc (+20%/-15%).

Line regulation is within 0.5% and load regulation is within ±2% from no load to full load. At full load, performance efficiency is at least 78% - a high return for an industrial inverter, while total harmonic distortion is less than 5%.

Amtex PSI 1000 is filtered to meet the requirements for EN55022 Class A as a minimum. Protection includes current limiting, short circuit protection and thermal shutdown with automatic recovery in case of continuous overload.

An optional output fail alarm (form C) and remote inhibiter are available.
