One of five Alufoil Trophy winners this year, the composite container has an inner lining of foil supplied by Amcor Flexibles Hochheim of Germany and lidding foil supplied by Amcor Flexibles Raackmann of Denmark which also features Amcor SoftValve – Amcor Flexibles’ patented one-way integrated valve, which allows the fresh-roasted coffee to breathe, and helps to maintain the full flavour of the coffee over a long period.
Leading independent judge Dr Jochen Hertlein, Head of Culinary Packaging, Nestle Germany, said “This entry breathes new life into old packaging to create a consumer friendly and decorative pack. It is a good example of combining the best of the new with the best of the old.”
The aroma-sealed coffee-pad container provides the Ahold Coffee Company, of the Netherlands, with a pack that not only offers excellent protection throughout the product’s life it also ensures the brand stands out in the highly competitive single-serve coffee market.
