Altium Limited , a developer of unified electronic product development solutions, announced the appointment of Samuel S. Weiss as non-executive chairman of Altium’s Board of Directors.
Sam Weiss replaces Carl Rooke as chairman following Carl’s announcement to retire from the position after seven years.
Carl Rooke will continue in his position of non-executive director for the board and as a member of the audit, remuneration and nomination committees.
Carl Rooke had overseen Altium’s transition from a private company, through the IPO to public company, into the current position of strength.
Sam Weiss was appointed to Altium’s board on 1 January 2007 and currently serves on the boards of Oroton Group, GLG Corp, IPGA, the Benevolent Society and the Sydney Festival.
Sam Weiss previously was the non-executive chairman of Oroton Group and as Vice President, Asia-Pacific, Gateway Computers and COO for Nike Europe.
Sam Weiss experience in strategic planning and managing organizational growth has already had a positive impact on Altium business.
