In addition to supplying virgin polyethylene for packaging applications, Allviron also processes recycled resin to produce recycled polyethylene packaging.
All of Allviron's recycled resin is processed locally, helping the environment by reusing the material rather than sending it to landfill.
This recycled polyethylene resin is available in two forms - jazz and natural remill.
Jazz is generally made from lower quality, multi coloured or printed feedstocks, with a black master batch usually added. This material is suitable for use in less critical applications where the enclosed product is not on display, and can also be used to produce rubbish or storage bags.
Natural remill recycled polyethylene utilises clean post industrial feedstock with no colouring in it or printing on it. This type of resin can be used to produce clear films, although consistency can sometimes be an issue, giving the film a 'hazy' appearance.
Using recycled resins such as polyethylene for packaging purposes is a sound environmental choice, although it should be noted that recycled content materials cannot be used in food contact or medical related applications.
