Polyurethane rods, sheets and tubes from Allplastics Engineering

Polyurethane (PU) or Urethane from Allplastics Engineering , is a thermoset elastomer available in a wide range of shore hardnesses from extremely soft to hard. The hardness is a consequence of the molecular structure of Polyurethane, not by the addition of fillers.Polyurethane has excellent resistance to abrasion, oils, various chemicals, solvents, and oxidation: while maintaining high tensile strength and resilience. Polyurethane is cast (poured) into shapes and Allplastics offers a machining service on this unique elastomer which combines the elasticity of rubber with the advantages of plastics.

Features of Polyurethane:

  • Polyurethane is corrosion resistant
  • Polyurethane contains good bonding and moulding capability
  • Remains flexible at low temperatures
  • Superior abrasion and tear resistance
  • High load bearing capacity
  • Polyurethane offers a high impact resistance
  • Fatigue resistant
  • Noise reduction
  • Non marking of painted surfaces
Polyurethane can be used in a number of applications, including:
  • Pump Impellers
  • Bumpers and Isolators
  • Industrial rollers and wheel coatings
  • Hydraulic Seals, Wipers, Washers
  • Conveyor drive and idle rollers
  • Scraper blades
Polyurethane comes in three differing specifications, including sheets from 10mm Dia to 150mm; rods from 3mm thick to 50mm and tubes made to order.
