The frame grabber family features 8 composite or 4 S-video inputs for multiplexed single channel or simultaneous dual-channel video capturing. User enabled Hardware MPEG-2 compression is available on selected modules.
Video controllers
All RTD video controllers support the ability to drive both the VGA and flat panel outputs simultaneously. The onboard VGA BIOS includes support for several common TTL and DVI panel types, while software tools provide BIOS support for custom flat panels.
Other key features include onboard IDE and floppy controllers. VGA and flat panel controllers are especially useful to provide video for systems, whose primary controllers do not support a video display.
This allows system integrators to minimise system power consumption by selecting a primary control unit that only includes features required in the final application.
A dedicated video controller module allows designers to develop and test a headless system, allowing the final product to function without a video interface, thus increasing MTBF and reducing power consumption.
