Sealevel Systems Inc. recently announced the release of a new, enhanced version of Sealevel’s SeaLINK software for Ethernet serial converters, supporting the Sealevel family of Ethernet to serial devices. Available from Allied Data Systems in Australia, the SeaLINK V5 driver for Microsoft Windows has been updated to provide increased throughput, improved security features, extra diagnostic capabilities, and support for new SeaLINK serial devices launching in 2011.
Sealevel SeaLINK Ethernet serial converters software will now offer better performance for adding legacy serial ports to an Ethernet network. Additionally, there is increased serial data throughput with less driver overhead than previous versions when using the software, and it also enables users to select the best serial and network performance settings by toggling with Nagle’s algorithm. When Nagle’s algorithm is enabled, Ethernet network overhead is reduced by grouping messages together into fewer packets. When Nagle’s algorithm is disabled, device latency will be significantly decreased.
Sealevel's Ethernet to Serial Servers include:
- 32 Bit Microsoft Windows 7
- 64 Bit Microsoft Windows 7
- 32 Bit Microsoft Windows Vista
- 64 Bit Microsoft Windows Vista
- 32 Bit Windows XP
- Supports Raw TCP/IP Mode
- RFC-2217 under Linux
