Slitter rewinder made locally

Supplier News

One of the many advantages of purchasing locally manufactured converting equipment is the ability to obtain a machine designed and built to the user’s exact requirements.

The latest Dusenbery 735FAM slitter rewinder manufactured in Sydney by Aldus Engineering and supplied to major domestic speciality paper converter is a typical example, according to an Aldus spokesman.

“ The client had particular ideas of what he wanted from the machine and this was achieved by utilizing the basic 735FAM and redesigning certain areas to suit the clients needs.

“The Dusenbery 735 series has proven to be a very popular and economical slitter rewinder capable of handling most papers and flexible packaging substrates. In this case, a larger 1000mm self loading unwind was added at the front of the machine together with a single colour KYMC flexo print station at the rear, allowing the machine to be used with or without the printing option but still resulting in a very compact and easy to use machine,” he said.

All of the operator controls were incorporated in a swinging pendant at the front of the machine and included a touch screen operator interface. Automatic tension control featured the latest Magpowr Polaris brake and closed loop tension control system and slitting utilised the latest Tidland Class 1 Performance shear knife holders. Flange mounted Tidland pneumatic rewind shafts allowed for rapid change-over from one size to another. Aldus Engineering (02 9809 0363).
