Tripax acquires Akro-Pak Packaging and Washco
TRIPAX Engineering has expanded into a new business area offering complete washing systems for all kinds of plastic crates, bins and trays as well as filling and capping machinery for difficult to handle liquids.
Recently Tripax (through its parent company Jorgensen based in Denmark) acquired the Australian company Akro-Pak Packaging and Washco International, which will now trade as TRIPAX WASHCO trading as Akro-Pak Machinery .
Akro-Pak has 21 years of experience within the domestic and international market place and is now well placed to expand its territory and product range under its new banner.
Akro-Pak has two areas of expertise. It designs and manufactures filling machinery for chemical liquids. The range consists of simple, hand held filling nozzles through to fully automated turnkey projects using solvent resistant seals in flameproof designs where necessary.
The other range is stand alone through to fully automatic systems for washing and drying various types and sizes of recyclable plastic bins and crates used between food producers and supermarkets or wholesalers.
This washing concept can also be used for other applications were clean, dry crates/bins are required between each usage. They are already in use in the automotive industry.
High pressure washing (including label removal) and drying at high capacities has seen this equipment well accepted within the industry.
The bin washing equipment complements TRIPAX's manufacture program of stainless steel processing machinery and materials handling equipment.
A good percentage of Tripax customers are growers who already use or have a need for this type of service.
The washing/drying concept of recyclable plastic crates is more economic, environmentally friendly, hygienic and reliable compared to traditional one-time use of cardboard and styrene boxes.
The management, including the former Managing Director Mr Kevin Stapleton, and staff of Akro-Pak/Washco will remain, as will the manufacturing premises in Castle Hill, Sydney. TRIPAX will be located in Bayswater, Melbourne.
This arrangement gives Tripax another outlet in NSW and Akro-Pak/Washco will extend their manufacture and administration to Melbourne, giving better coverage for their customers.
