AIR Springs Supply has released highly portable pneumatic sealing systems, compact enough to fit into a backpack, to seal external leaks on pipes and tanks.
The latest Pronair sealing systems from the international Pronal elastomer group can be quickly installed on-site to provide immediate assistance in accidents or emergencies.
The systems' inflatable belts and pads are wrapped around the leaking pipe, or secured over other leaking surfaces, then inflated at up to 5Bar (depending on application) to press their sealing surface against the leak.
While designed to be extremely lightweight for rapid surface, air or sea deployment (the smallest 420mm X 520mm unit weighs under 8kg complete with straps), the robust system can seal external leaks affecting fire brigades, refineries and petrochemical plants.
The system can also be used with remote site maintenance or service vehicles used by a wide variety of industries.
Held in place by belts with a breaking strain of up to 5t, the Pronair units' tough construction allows them to be used in heavy duty applications including those that require compatibility with hydrocarbons.
Now available in model sizes 420mm x 500mm, 620mm X 500mm, 1000mm X 140mm and 1600mm X 250mm, the Pronair units feature reinforcement strips along each edge, to which quickly adjustable fastening straps are fixed and adjusted with ratchet type buckles.
The sealing surface in contact with the pipe or tank is reinforced with a sheet of rubber. Units are fitted with an integrated inflation stem.
