Stainless steel fixed-point gas monitor
INDUSTRIAL Scientific, represented by Air Met Scientific , has released the iTrans stainless steel fixed-point gas monitor. It is suitable for installations in harsh environments such as offshore drilling platforms, chemical plants or applications near a saltwater coastline.
Capable of accommodating over 200 transmitters in RS485 bus configuration.
Possible sensor configurations include single onboard sensors, an onboard sensor with a remote sensor and dual remote sensors. All housings and sensor types are explosion-proof and carry CSA and KEMA approvals.
All iTrans fixed-point gas monitors employ an intelligent electronics foundation for independent operation or multi-point system configurations, and can transmit a 4mA-20mA signal or ModBus RTU digital output to any control device. The ModBus RTU interface allows systems integrators to connect iTrans monitors or non-display sensor heads to existing or new SCADA, HMI, and PLC systems. Using standard four wire connections, the system is capable of accommodating over 200 transmitters in RS485 bus configuration.
With optional on-board relays the iTrans monitor is capable of standalone operation that can activate alarms, horns or fans, or shut down a system without the need to wire back to a control panel. The unit also offers a relay deactivation feature to prevent accidental alarm activation during calibrations.
All iTrans transmitters carry safety features including automatic sensor recognition, access code security, and zero and calibration fault protection. The iTrans monitors are programmed from a setup menu controlled by four keys. Once the transmitter is configured, all operational functions, including monitor status, can be accessed through the display window with a magnetic wand, eliminating the need to remove the cover.
