Gas detection at the ready

The eight steps needed to maintain gas detection instruments can now be done automatically, reaping time and cost savings.

Suitable for a wide range of area monitoring applications.

Air Met has released the DS2 second-generation docking station that can manage bump testing, calibration, data downloading, record keeping, battery charging, settings updates and diagnostic checks. It supports the iTX, VX500 and T82 gas monitors and Air Met will demonstrate how a fleet of the monitors can be effortlessly maintained at The Safety Show, Sydney in October.

A series of instruments on plinths at the Air Met stand will demonstrate how the DS2's two-way wireless and/or Ethernet connectivity can link up to 100 instrument docking stations from remote locations. With automatic downloading and storage of all stored instrument survey data at user prescribed intervals, information can be relayed back to one central database.

A graphical user interface tool (DSSAC) allows an administrator to view operations on each docking station from a network computer. Each docking station has three separate gas inputs and has the ability to share up to 14 discrete gases for calibrations when docking stations are clustered together. Calibrations, bump tests, diagnostic tests and hygiene data downloads can be scheduled globally for all docking stations or on an instrument-specific basis.

Also new from Air Met is Australian-made fixed gas monitoring range, the MonoTox Pro. Fast, accurate and reliable, the MonoTox Pro range consists of three monitors, the MonoTox Pro Master (with LCD display), MonoTox Pro Transmit (without LCD) and MonoTox Pro Car Park (CO sensor only). Using microprocessor-controlled technology, these single channel gas monitors are suitable for a wide range of area monitoring applications such as car parks, refrigeration areas and industrial areas. Air Met service centres are also available to perform calibrations and fulfil service requirements.

The MonoTox Pro and DS2 Docking Station complement Air Met's range of monitoring instruments. The range includes both portable and fixed gas detectors, noise dosimeters, air samplers, vibration monitors, environmental instruments and monitors, radiation monitors and heat stress monitors, detector tubes and indoor air quality monitors. Many of these will be on display at the Air Met stand F38 at The Safety Show Sydney, which runs from 13-15 October at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park.
