AGILENT Technologies has introduced the first one-box test set that measures both WLAN 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth modules from a single platform.
The Agilent N4010A wireless connectivity test set with WLAN option 102/103 combines a fully calibrated vector signal generator and wide bandwidth signal analyser into a single test set.
The test set maximises manufacturers' flexibility and significantly lowers the cost of test by eliminating the need to purchase separate WLAN and Bluetooth measurement systems.
It supports all chipset manufacturers and provides simpler system integration, improved RF performance and faster, more accurate measurements than golden radio-based systems.
These capabilities combined with the test set's low price significantly reduce the cost of testing WLAN and Bluetooth modules.
The majority of WLAN manufacturing test sets consist of a golden WLAN radio, spectrum analyzer, power meter and power supply.
The Agilent N4010A replaces the golden radio with a more efficient digital source and integrates the other components into a single box, simplifying the test set and significantly reducing calibration requirements.
Engineers using test set options 102/103 are able to verify multiple 802.11a/b/g chipsets operating in 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands.
The test set provides superior RF performance to golden-radio based systems, and enables industry-standard modulation quality measurements such as error vector magnitude (EVM), which are critical for testing 802.11a/b/g devices.
Using the test set Bluetooth option 101, engineers can make transmitter and receiver measurements as defined in the Bluetooth RF specification.
