AGILENT Technologies has released multiband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MB-OFDM) enhancements for the ultra-wideband (UWB) DesignGuide.

The UWB DesignGuide works with Agilent's advanced design system (ADS) 2004A electronic design automation (EDA) software to speed UWB product development. The DesignGuide offers a MB-OFDM technique to help ensure that new products meet wireless specifications for emerging applications, such as wireless USB, by accurately characterising RF spectral effects.

MB-OFDM is a technique that is applied to UWB applications to provide high spectral efficiency, resiliency to RF interference and lower multipath distortion. The UWB DesignGuide enables designers to quickly analyse UWB MB-OFDM spectrums to account for RF effects and help ensure that new designs adhere to wireless power spectrum specifications.

Agilent ADS software offers a complete set of front-to-back simulation and layout tools and instrument links for RF and microwave IC design in a single, integrated design flow. The UWB DesignGuide works within the ADS environment and streamlines the design and verification process for UWB designs by providing preconfigured simulation setups, signal sources and tests for quick simulation of circuitry used in UWB applications.
